Lissa Schneckenburger & Bethany Waickman
Lissa Schneckenburger is a young master of traditional New England fiddling as well as a composer and singer whose voice has been called "pure and clear, full of simple emotion" by All Music Guide. She grew up in Maine, surrounded by music of many kinds, especially the sprightly New England dance tunes that combine influences from the British Isles, Ireland and Quebec with homegrown twists. Lissa's fiddling is uplifting and lively - Folk Roots calls it "tasty and feisty" -- and her singing is gentle and evocative. Her latest CD project explores some long-forgotten Downeast songs and dance tunes from her childhood. She will be accompanied by Bethany Waickman, whose creative and driving rhythm guitar style has made her one of the most sought-after young accompanists in the area. Bethany joined the Lissa Schneckenburger Band in 2008 and has toured with Lissa in the US, Canada and Europe.
