SARAH PETERS

click to see full photoSarah Peters, who was the overwhelming choice of both the jurors and the public in the competition for the plaques, moved to Falmouth in 1992 with her husband, an engineer at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute. Sarah has had extensive training in drawing and illustration, a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Pratt Institute in New York, and freelance clients ranging from Tiffany & Company to Harper Collins Publishers. The Committee to Encourage Public Art is delighted to introduce her work to the Falmouth community.

Two of Sarah Peters' medals, "Rabbit Flush" and "Summer with Orange Styrofoam Flotation Device", were selected for the F.I.D.E.M. (Fédération Internationale de la Médaille or International Medal Federation) 2002 exhibit to be held at the Paris Mint in September.  "Rabbit Flush" was given the honor of "Judges' Choice".

2004: One of Sarah's bronze medals were recently sold to the British Museum, Department of Coins and Medals. The Royal Coin Cabinet of Stockholm, Sweden, just bought two of her medals.
