The Solstice Singers is a group of 14 musicians from across Cape Cod. The ensemble transports its audiences to another era by weaving medieval and Renaissance songs with drama, dance, poetry, and period costumes. Under the musical direction of Lore Loftfield De Bower, members sing a cappella or accompanied by period instruments such as the lute, recorder, crumhorn, and drum. Their repertoire is extensive, ranging from madrigal and dance songs to sacred chapel music. While performers come from many walks of life, they are united in their love of medieval and Renaissance music, and in the joy of bringing the early music experience to their audiences.
