Eight Cousins offers quality children's books including the work of many of today's finest graphic artists, poets and prose writers. In addition to book-related toys, puppets and games, there is a good selection of art books for children and young adults. There is also a small but choice collection of current titles for adults, and local history for all ages. The store hosts occasional art workshops, author signings, and its own collection of original art, including a significant bronze sculpture by Sarah Peters (July, 2003) near the front entrance, and a participatory mural (June, 2003) in the rear parking area.
