The Falmouth Cultural Council cordially invites the public to its Grant Awards Presentation at the new Falmouth Art Center at 137 Gifford Street on Sunday, April 18 from 2 to 4 pm
Titled CELEBRATION SHINDIG the event mixes entertainment, audience participation, award
presentations, and refreshments. It promises to be a fun time for
all! The Shindig is free, but guests are encouraged to bring a
non-perishable donation for the food pantry.
David Allen is organizing the audience event this year. David is a
theater director, teacher and arts administrator who has taught at the
University of Hartford and UMass-Amherst. He has been an artistic
associate for both the Long Wharf Theater and the Hartford Stage Company,
and was the founding executive director of the Community School of the
Arts in Kansas City, Missouri. During the Shindig, David will lead
an exploration of creativity and imagination through interactive theater,
games, and improvisations. Participation is voluntary and, David
promises, totally non-threatening!
In addition to receiving their awards, some of the grant recipients will
be adding to the festivities. There will be music, poetry, and
presentations by Scott Jameson, the Solstice Singers, Lee Garrick, the
Cape Cod Children?s Museum, the Historical Association of Southeastern
Mass, and the Cape Cod Cultural Center.
The public is encouraged to attend this free event to celebrate the arts
in Falmouth.
