The Falmouth Cultural Council is a committee of colunteers appointed by the selectmen. We are the local arm of the communities department of the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC). The council's primary responsibility is the administration of the grant funds from the MCC.

Arts & Culture Element: Falmouth Comprehensive Plan
Analysis
Arts and cultural groups in Falmouth exist in many forms, some stronger than
others. While they provide for active, creative expression as well as passive
entertainment, not all persons are impacted. Competence in the arts provides entrance to
trades and professions. Art and culture are means of connection with one's heritage.
Goals and Policies
Goal 1:
To recognize that the arts are a critical component of the quality of life and
economy in Falmouth.
Policy 1:
The Town of Falmouth's authorization of the Falmouth Cultural Council to
administer, implement and maintain the provisions of the Arts & Culture
Element of the Local Comprehensive Plan.
Policy 2:
The Cultural Council will strive to build a coalition among the art and
business communities and appropriate funding sources to benefit Falmouth
both culturally and economically.
Goal 2:
To develop and actively maintain an environment in which the creative arts
can thrive for the benefit of our culturally diverse community.
Policy 1:
To encourage the public acknowledgement, visibility and support of the
artistic community and cultural activities. To also encourage people's
constructive creativity expressed through art and culture.
Priority Action Items
Action Item 1:
Designation of the Falmouth Cultural Council to administer the
provisions of the Art & Culture Element.
Responsible Party: Board of Selectmen
Action Item 2:
Develop and maintain an Art and Cultural calendar to be updated as
needed and distributed electronically and in print.
Responsible Party: Falmouth Cultural Council
Action Item 3:
Create linkages between Art and Culture groups, projects and
activities to optimize use of existing resources.
